Aunt Lola's Fudge Cake

4 tbsp shortening
2 c sugar
2 eggs
4 sq unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 3/4 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 c milk
1 c chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare pans.
Sift together flour, salt & baking powder.
In a large bowl, combine shortening & sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time.
Add chocolate. Add milk & flour mix, 1/3 at a time each,
alternating. Add vanilla. Add nuts.
Pour into pans.
Bake 40-45 minutes. Keep an eye on it for the last 5-10 minutes as this cake scorches easily.
